Hannah and I have been on the mend this week, slowly both recovering from COVID, and ending up doing very early hops before work to get up to Portland for this weekend. Hannah started a few days after me, so she's still a bit behind on recovery, but we're almost out of it.

Today we took a hop up to Biddeford Pool. We've been making progress to get up to Portland for the weekend to see our friend Sara, reunite with Inquest, and see a weekend-long concert with Guster and many other bands.

There's a small island nearby that has an awkward tower on it. I assumed it was one of the shipwreck supply towers from the 1800s, but it's actually a stranger tower with some awkward history -- you'll have to read the short article.

After a calm day on the mooring, we headed into the one grocery store/restaurant ashore here for dinner. Everything was a little distressingly expensive, but we were a relatively captive audience, so we joined the many other locals eating there and got a delicious lobster roll, haddock tacos, and finished up with some blueberry cobbler that they added local ice cream to. It was pretty great.

Then had a lovely sunset for our ride back to the boat. This is why we do this silly life.
